Torex Coin Auction, Coronavirus, Stock Market Action, February 7 Update

So far it’s been an incredible start to the New Year! Think about it: Donald Trump impeached, then acquitted! A Pandemic Flu that’s infecting tens of thousands worldwide. A stock market rally like we’ve never seen before. Oh and, most importantly, the February Torex Coin Auction!

Yes we have much to discuss, but first my disclaimer: this post contains affiliate links where the blog may receive a small commission on any sales from EQ Bank, Scotiabank, Questrade and Tangerine.

Trump Beats Impeachment!

Trump Beats Impeachment!

I can’t believe that he got away with it! And beat it along partisan lines. I think the US will have serious political problems going forward. The populace is more polarized than ever before.

The electoral system is not representative and will have the most populous states like California and New York wondering why they only get 2 senators just like the Dakota’s or Nebraska with barely a million people between the 3!

Coronavirus Cover-Up?

Coronavirus Cover-Up?

China did it with SARS back in 2003 and it looks like they tried to do it again with Coronavirus 2019. Only this time the situation clearly got out of hand too fast for effective containment and control of information.

Let me just say what no one else will…With over 50 million Chinese in a strict quarantine and the rest of the country virtually locked down, the Coronavirus outbreak is a total catastrophe.

First hand accounts of the situation on the ground in the city of Wuhan describe hospitals that are completely overrun with patients and medical staff completely overwhelmed.

Last night I saw images of cropdusters spraying disinfectant all over the place.

Between the shroud of state secrecy and all of the misinformation out there about Coronavirus, what are we left to think? One thing is for sure, at this point, it doesn’t seem like the virus is under control at all.

Stock Market Rallies into the Stratosphere

Now with all the political upheaval in the US, the close call of a war with Iran, and what I think could become a global pandemic circulating, a reasonable person might think that stocks would tumble.

No way. Instead they got a huge boost from the amount of stimulus being pumped into global markets to alleviate the trade fallout from the Coronavirus quarantine.

While I continue to automatically invest each month, I do have some cash built up on the side as at some point stocks will fall hard.
